Firstly and most importantly - interior design can be very nuanced. There are so many moving parts and variables that can go into a design, and many firms work very differently! There are so many questions can help you sort through:
Are we simply swapping out finishes, furnishings, decor, and accessories, or are we doing a full remodel inclusive of demolishing walls, cabinetry, plumbing etc.?
Do we need architectural, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing drawings?
Does this project need to be permitted in your jurisdiction?
Who permits - trade, general contractor, homeowner, or designer?
Secondly, there are also many reasons you may need additional help in your project:
Older homes with outdated plumbing and electrical
Newer homes - getting the basic build and ideally wanting to remodel
Electrical, plumbing, mechanical changes
